Registration for the German courses

German Semester Courses (A1-C2) for International Students ISSK – Internationales Studien- und Sprachenkolleg

Courses offered:

Classes at levels A1, A2, B1, B2.1, B2.2 meet twice a week for a total of 6 academic units per week (2.5 hours on each meeting), and run for 14 weeks throughout the semester teaching period. Classes at levels C1-C2 meet once per week for 2-4 academic units (2-3,5 hours).


Registration and Placement Test

Friday, 13th April 2018 (9:00-13:00)

Documents – please bring the following items with you:

  • ID
  • Student ID (e.g. Studiticket)
  • Details of your ZDV-Account (username/ password – important!)
  • Your planned timetable for your study program (important!)
  • Pen and paper

Placement Test:

The electronic placement test is of the Cloze-type and consists of 4 short texts with 25 gaps in each text (i.e.100 gaps in total). To log in you need your ZDV-Account Name and Password.

The placement tests start on April 13th at 9:00 a.m. in computer room P 206 in the Philosophicum building (top floor) at the following times, according to the first letter of your surname / last name:

Important: You must come to the test even if you consider yourself a total beginner as you will still have to register with A1.

If you have been placed at levels A1-B2: On the day following the test your assignment to a course will be published on the information board next to P200 in the Philosophicum.

If you have been placed at level C: On Friday 13th April at 14:00 you must register in P202 for one of the courses offered at the C-level

ECTS / Credit Requirements:

The credit requirements for obtaining 6 ECTS at levels A1, A2, B1, B2.1, B2.2. include regular participation and session preparation, special assignments and a final exam (parts of which may be given during the semester). Classes at levels C1-C2 carry 2-4 ECTS. Your instructor will inform you about the credit requirements. There will be no certificates for attendance only (without a grade).
