Registration for the German Courses

How can I register for a German language course?

Registration is NOT possible via Jogustine, but via a placement test or your personal registration on the day of the placement test. There are different rules for visiting academics and PhD students, see here.

Who has to take a placement test?

Every student who is newly enrolled at JGU and has not yet passed courses at the ISSK hasto take the placement test the week before the semester starts. Further information can be found here.

How can you register for a follow-up course

Students who have already successfully completed German course (A1 – B2.2) at the ISSK and want to take part in a (follow-up) course in the next semester must register for the language courses on 13th April 2018 in room P206 in the Philosophicum (on Campus). Make sure to have the language certificate from your last German course at the ISSK as well as your student-ID.

You can find course descriptions on Jogustine course catalogue under ISSK > Deutsch als Fremdsprache or in the secretary’s office of the Language Center at the ISSK.

Students who can prove their proficiency level C1/C2  (DSH exam, assessment test/ Feststellungsprüfung, TestDaF with at least 4x4) and want to take part in a course in the next semester must register for the language course on 13th April 2018 in room P206 in the Philosophicum (on Campus). Make sure to have the language certificate from your last German course at the ISSK as well as your student-ID.

Note: Vacant places will be allocated in the first session. Your participation in the first session is therefore mandatory.
