Who should take this class? - students with completed level A2.1; refresher option before B1

At the end of this class, students
- understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment)
- communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters
- describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need

Grammar focus:
- Indirect question sentences with “ob”
- Local prepositions
- Subjunctive voice (Konjunktiv)
- Main clause connectors “deshalb” and “trotzdem”
- dependent clauses with “ als” and “wenn”
- verbs with prespositions
- dative and accusative verbs
- relative clauses

Speaking / Writing focus:
- Phone conversations, professional introduction, reading and understanding longer texts

Course completion requirements:
- Written exam
- Oral exam
